ZITHROMAX is indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms contain the active ingredient azithromycin, an azalide, a subclass of macrolide antibiotics, for oral administration.
Azithromycin dihydrate. Each capsule contains azithromycin dihydrate 262.05 mg equivalent to azithromycin base 250 mg. It also contains anhydrous lactose, maize starch, magnesium stearate and sodium lauryl sulfate as excipients.
Zithromax Information
Zithromax® (azithromycin) is an antibiotic used most often to treat respiratory infections in children and adults. For adult patients, these infections include bacterial bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia. Zithromax can also be used to treat skin infections and some sexually transmitted diseases in adults.
Zithromax can be given to adult patients in a tablet or as an IV form. Zithromax is taken once a day.
Like all medicines, Zithromax may cause some side effects. They are generally mild to moderate. They usually go away after the medicine is stopped. The most common ones are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain. |
